I'm Karan, a Senior Software Engineer in New Delhi, building architecture for high-traffic platforms and the open-source tools other engineers reach for.

State Management Library
Most React apps reach for a heavy state library before they actually need one, and the lightweight pattern that solves it rarely comes with real TypeScript support or devtools. I'd already used this pattern at work to drop a dependency. Turning it into a proper open-source package meant going from a dev to devs, building it for strangers' code, not just mine. So I built Overwatch TS: a small, type-safe state library with batching and devtools baked in, published to npm with its own docs site and blog. It's live on npm with a public GitHub repo and a dedicated docs site under WisdomBits.

A VS Code extension that beams a git stash straight to a teammate's editor over the network, no commit needed.

I started out working with robots and PCBs, completely focused on hardware. Then, almost out of nowhere, I got hooked on web development.
That sudden shift led to my first real job, where I built frontend systems for OTT streaming apps. Diving deep into software got me into open source, where I built my own state management library and developer tools. Now I sometimes freelance, solving tough frontend problems and building custom tools for different teams.
In the end, I prefer building the tools to using them. The bulk of my time is devoted to the more technical aspects, such as managing state, speeding up data loads, and eliminating lag, to ensure the applications run smoothly. And each time I get stuck or feel frustrated at my desk, I put on my headphones and go for a walk.
